It is known that aerogel impregnated fibrous blankets offer high acoustic absorption and thermal insulation performance. These materials are becoming very popular in various industrial building applications. Although the reasons for performance of these well understood, it still largely unclear what controls their Additionally, only a small number publications to date report on acoustical properties with powder aerogels. There lack studies attempt explain measured valid mathematical model. This paper contributes this knowledge gap through simulation predicts complex reflection coefficient different filling ratios. shown blanket generally controlled by effective pore size porosity composite structure. there need refinement classical Biot-type model take into account sorption pressure diffusion effects, which become important increased ratio.
